Introduction
This training program has been designed for companies whom operators had to operate both forklift and stacker on their daily working activities. They will be learning the technical aspects and safe operations on both machines. It covers intensive classroom instruction, as well as hands-on practical training and assessments on manual and mechanical forklift and Reach truck handling which is designed to increased safety, motivation and productivity that helps protect personnel, loads and equipment. It also delivers a thorough understanding on safety management and procedures in compliance with the Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 (OSHA, Act 514).
Course Description
- To deliver a good understanding for new recruits as well as veteran drivers on the principles of safe forklift operation, the types and its operation procedures.
- To emphasize on safety awareness towards workplace hazards which arise from the use of forklift in accordance with the legal safety requirements under OSHA 1994 (Act 514) standard.
- To train and reveal the important issues that involve truck driving such as machines and technical knowledge, handling skills and the correct operational attitudes.
- To assist operators in enable those to identify and avoid risk from surrounding people and the safeguard of fixed assets and goods lifted.
- To motivate operators to become well trained operators to perform better thus contributing in reducing the risk of damage to goods, equipment’s and human.
- To produce a highly skilled forklift operators with safety practice to become the most valuable asset for the company’s mission.

Certification:
- Certificates of Attendance in “Material Handling Equipment’s(MHE) ” are awarded to participants on successful completion of course of 2days
- Forklift or Reach Truck Competent Driving License(CDL) will be issued to those pass practical exam.

Day 1
- Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 Legislation.
- Understand the type of MHE
- The Mechanism of Stability Triangle, Center of gravity of Forklift, Reach Truck.
- Forklift Characteristic and Operating Hazards, Battery Charging Methods
- Load Factors and Calculation, Tip over Safety Procedures.
- Video presentation of Real Forklift and Reach Truck Accidents
- Theory Exam to understand what has been learn.
- Factory Visit and arrange area for practical Training
Day 2
- Pre-Occupational Inspection and Inspection of Forklift or Reach Truck.
- Demonstration - Procedures and safe driving of Forklift or Reach Truck.
- Practical – New and Old drivers are trained on Safe behavior driving on barricaded track.
- Practical Driving Test
- Result announcement.
- Test Report to PIC
