Course Description
DOSH/JKKP Legislation Work at height is work in any place 2meters and above, including a place at above or below ground level, where a person could be injured if they fell from that place. Access and egress to a place of work can also be work at height.
Course Outline
Successful participants will be able to work safely at heights in the workplace with minimal supervision by identifying the requirements of the job, accessing and installing the required equipment, and cleaning up the work area. They will also be able to conduct a risk assessment of the job. Specific topics include:

No. 6: Directors and office bearers jointly and severally liable
No. 7: Inspection of plant and certificate of fitness

Objectives and Learning Outcomes
This course introduces the principles, best practice, risks and equipment associated with skills working at height activities. It will enable participants to recognize the hazards and risks involved in carry out work at height and also to be able to plan effectively how they will work in order to minimize those risks.
This work at Height training course will empower participants with knowledge and skills that will permit them perform work at height operations safely and effectively. At the end of this session you will be able to:
- Identify and use fall prevention and fall protection measures appropriatel
- Identify the hazards and managing the risks of WAH task
- Safe use of Harnesses&Safely performing work at heights
- Emergency procedures & rescue of a suspended worker
What Participants Will Learn
Participants will learn to identify potential fall hazards and actionable steps needed to reduce or eliminate the risks associated with falls.
- Fall hazards identification
- Properly select and inspect Personal Fall Protection Systems (PFPS)
- Calculate fall clearance distances
- Understand the effect of fall forces
- Utilize methods to reduce fall arrest forces
Course Content
1 Day (9.00am – 5.00pm)
- Occupational Safety & Health Act (Amendment) 2020 (Act 514)
- BOWEC - Building Operations and Works of Engineering
- Construction) (SAFETY) Regulation 1986.
- Provide requirements on provision 75(1) under the BOWEC 1986)
- Understand the principal legislation on working at height above 2 meters
- Work at Height regulations eg.65,66,68 etc. (Ladder)
- Recognize the hazards when working at height
- Recognize the hazards associated with ladders and stepladders
